 Pet Odor and Animal Carpet Pet Problems
Great,
my dog or cat has peed on your carpet while I was at work, now what?
Pet urine
is actually easier to deal with than you might think......
Here
are some basic methods of pet urine and
odor removal that really work. You will need the
following
ingredients: baking
soda, white vinegar, liquid dish soap, and 3%
hydrogen peroxide. Make a 50% white vinegar, 50% cold water solution
and pour around the pet stain soaking it.
Now, with a clean white
towel, blot up the solution.
After area has dried, sprinkle baking soda
over soiled animal carpet area. Mix 4 0z or ½ cup of 3% hydrogen
peroxide with a teaspoon of dish detergent.
Slowly pour this solution
over baking soda with rubber gloves, and work solution into pet stain.
After the area has dried, vacuum up the dried material.
If the stain is
not fully removed repeat the process. This will also work for a cat
stain.
 For poop stains, first pick-up and remove as much
solid material as
possible. Next, spray a Oxi pre-wash laundry stain
remover. Let dwell
for 5-10 minutes then rinse with cold soapy water (liquid dish soap).
Blot up excess solution until damp or almost dry. Repeat until
no stain can be seen.
Removing Dog Odor (also
works with other pet odors)
Using a 1 cup 50/50 white vinegar and cold water solution, pour over
stain and blot up excessive moisture, pet carpet to verify all moisture
has evaporated. Sprinkle baking powder and work into carpet. Let dry
and then vacuum up.
